Common Pitfalls in Treatment

Many home-use devices attempt to treat anxiety by generally rewarding Alpha across the entire head. This is a critical mistake. If a patient already possesses an excess of frontal Alpha (often seen in inattentive ADHD or depression), rewarding more Alpha will exacerbate their fatigue and executive dysfunction, even if it temporarily relaxes them.
